Let’s kick off the 10th Annual Crane & Sheep Festival with a chili dinner at the Interpretive Centre. All are welcome!

8:00 - 11:00am - Breakfast ($5 per plate)
Enjoy a fundraising breakfast organized by Girls Night Out before a busy day of nature-watching. Buffet-style breakfast (pancakes, eggs, bacon, etc.) with an assortment of baking and smoothies. They will also be selling bagged lunches!

10:30 - 11:30am – Bear Aware—TJ Grantham
Learn about the bears in the Yukon, and how to stay safe around them. A favourite talk given by Faro’s own Conservation Officer.

11:30am - Musical Interlude - Sonic Boom
Faro's own Glee Club gives a short performance including Is Somebody Singing?, which they will be performing on May 6 as part of Music Monday, a cross-Canada event synced up with Colonel Hadfield on the ISS.

View cranes flying overhead and spot Faro’s unique Fannin sheep on the mountain slopes. Wildlife experts will be available to answer all your questions.

A Festival favourite! Enjoy tasty bison burgers. Some vegetarian fare available for the non-carnivores among us. Bring a side or salad if you’re able! BBQing services courtesy of the Faro Volunteer Fire Department.

Since 1999, George and his partner Kristy Yuncker have documented a mated pair of Sandhill Cranes during their nesting season in Alaska. Join George and learn about Millie and Roy and their family.

Games, activities, and crafts for children who might not be ready for the keynote presentation. Supervision will be present. Parents are required to register their children (4 & up) in advance.

The road to the Sheep Centre has only recently been opened up, and it is very narrow and very uneven. People are encouraged to use the shuttle service provided in the afternoon.

Town of Faro’s municipal J. Connolly RV Park offers sites for only $15.00 per night with electricity and showers. There are no direct water hook-ups for campers this early in the season.

Faro has a card-lock fuel facility, which accepts Visa or Mastercard.
